The Addicks' Haddock and Chips Centenary Party
AT
THE ROSE OF DENMARK
-
GUARANTEED COMPLETELY
UNOFFICIAL
A Kentish Independent cartoon on the London Junior Cup game with our bitter rivals Charlton Amateurs on Saturday, December 7, 1912. We won 2-1. The illustration is from the book The Addicks cartoons ...an affectionate look into the early history of Charlton Athletic, by Richard Redden.
Saturday June 11
at The Rose of Denmark
Woolwich Road, Charlton
from 12 noon
- Some of us are gathering for a completely unofficial party at the Rose for drinks and a meal on Saturday, June 11, two days after the centenary day on June 9. It's a guaranteed corporate-free event. Come along and join us
- Timetable - 12 noon: Centenary birthday cake cutting at the green in Eastmoor Street. 12.15pm: Off to the Rose for a haddock and chips meal and drinks (The Rose has agreed to put on special beers if there's enough demand) - and maybe surprise guests
- If you want to order the haddock and chips in advance, please send £4 to Richard Redden, 48 Station Road, West Wickham, Kent BR4 0PR (cheques payable to Richard). Otherwise you can just buy your meal at local fish and chip shops (although they may run out of haddock if they don't have advance notice so the £4 option is safest)
